2023 UFO Grand Prize Entries
We love her fabric choices for this 3-6-9 quilt that she titled "Pastelogram". 😍 Aptly named, and puppy approved, too!
The pattern is called “Crackers” and can be found in the “Quick and Easy Scrap Quilts” book from Leisure Arts.
We may need to cancel our weekend plans to sew one of our own!
She took the Birch Bark class with Carrie and named her version “All Along the Fretboard”. It perfectly matches Thomas, too – both tan and gorgeous!
Her stash-busting Crumb quilt features all the colours of the rainbow (and dinos in space, too)!
Colourful and whimsical – just the way we like it!
This heavenly hexie quilt is titled ‘Modern Cultivar “Hexagon”’. A hexagonal border print completes the look while staying on theme. BRB – we need to cultivate a hexi quilt of our own!
Titled “Asian Zipper”, it features a plethora of beautiful Japanese prints in golds, reds, greens, and blues to create an incredible piece of art!
We love a good fat quarter quilt, and this Fat ¼ Favorite is perfect for showing off lush batik prints!
Lynn managed to piece and quilt this autumnal stunner in record time (and just in time for cooler days ahead).
How lovely is her “Nova Scotia Dresden Plate”? A dreamy quilt for dreaming of the maritimes!

I'm done my first UFO for #ufospottedatquiltypleasures

The first of three #ufospottedatquiltypleasures I plan to complete this summer.
I absolutely love everything about this quilt, which is made of 3 patterns.
I chose to add the castle with the bigger format Astrid used to make a quilt. And the binding is made with the same green fabrics as the trees.
Patterns:
Dragon Dreams and Little Kingdom both by @applesandbeavers
and the trees are from Tiny Town Quilt from @penandpaperpatterns
My #booknookquilt is complete.
And I love everything about it.
The rainbow colors for the books with the grey background fabric. And the light teal green binding showing the back too.
The second of three projects to be finished for September 1st, for the
#ufospottedatquiltypleasures.
Her fantastic Quilting I sampler was inspired by the Birdsong fabric by Gingiber she used as a border. The birds may be singing but so are our heartstrings at the sight of this quilt!
Designed by Bonnie Hunter, this queen-sized quilt (titled “Unity”) was started in 2020 as a pandemic project. We love its super saturated primary colours, red piping border detail, and subtle ode to toilet paper on the back!
She was inspired by a handsewn quilt her friend showed her that was created in 1915.
With plenty of planning and research she made her own, sans pattern, and the results are glorious - well done, Manon!
She used the Meander collection to create this delightful Heyday quilt. Orangey reds, crisp blues, and pale pinks contrast beautifully with a white background and cream border. The result is oh so fetching and oh sew fab!

#ufospottedatquiltypleasures three ufo completion challenge!
The pattern is a Merry Mayhem Mystery Project that I lovingly call “Blue Stars” when I wasn’t swearing at it! Lol.
It was quilted beautifully by Elke of Aloha Quilting.
A huge shout out to #QuiltyPleasures for hosting this challenge, and actually motivating me to finish these two quilts!
Sarah - Blue Stars
No need for a telescope – we’re already stargazing with Batik Stars, a celestial beauty that’s out of this world!
Titled Zephyr, this gorgeous quilt mixes geometric and floral motifs for a truly luxe result. We’re richer for having seen it!
This is my third project for the #ufospottedatquiltypleasures .
Thank you @quilty_pleasures for hosting this ufo challenge.
I always learn so much (about myself and quilting) in this journey...
I had set aside this beautiful project back in February because I was not sure I liked the mix of colors I had started with. I needed this push to get moving and complete it.
And now I will go pick a book and enjoy its warmth for a couple hours... At least!
Good luck to all the quilters participating in this challenge!

Peter Cottontail has nothing on these adorable Country Bunnies! Soft yellows, blues, and sage green complement each other beautifully (and hippity, hoppity, happily)!
How amazing is this jewel-toned Quilting I sampler? The cream background shows off the craftsmanship in each block, and framing black borders give it a stained-glass finish. Beautiful!
Curved piecing and musical fabrics are in the spotlight in this red and white Contempo Twist quilt. It deserves a round of applause!
This is my second finish for #ufospottedatquiltypleasures
Thanks Amy @quilty_pleasures for the suggestion to go with a checkerboard to up the size of this quilt.

My #thatfairytalequilt was started in January and I’ve slowly worked at it, while sprinkling in other projects.
When @quilty_pleasures
announced their UFO challenge, I very hesitantly added it to my list... This is my third finish in #ufospottedatquiltypleasures

A small 4th one got done as well just because it got mixed up in the pile too. Hahaha. It is now hanging up at my workplace.
They were all quilted by Elke Schlossmacher of Aloha Quilting.

Forget buying a bouquet from the shop – these flowers won’t wilt!
This Embroidery Flowers quilt looks fresh and fabulous year-round (and no green-thumbs necessary)!
This Springtime wall hanging with rickrack and fabric blooms is a whimsical ode to Spring!
It’s spooky how adorable this Halloween Fun panel quilt is!
Her Border Quilt is a clever way to showcase a favourite block or make smaller pieced projects large enough to snuggle under. In other words, it’s “made to border”!
This is Beth’s first entry in the #ufospottedatquiltypleasures grand prize draw!
Her rad neon-esque Ombre Geese are complemented with a teal border and black and white striped binding. The results are totally awesome!
This is Michelle’s first entry in the #ufospottedatquiltypleasures grand prize draw!
Her playful Quilting I sampler with a floating pieced border is an absolute delight!
This is Michelle’s second entry in the #ufospottedatquiltypleasures grand prize draw!
True north strong and pieced - her Canada Day quilt is red and white perfection!
This is Michelle’s third entry in the #ufospottedatquiltypleasures grand prize draw!
Titled “Kimberley”, berry pink and chocolate brown come together to create a rich and feminine palette – how delectable!
Try angles with a Triangles Quilt! A retro palette of coral, pink, violet, and gold pair beautifully with a plaid backing. Equilaterally speaking, a superb result!
Pretty in pink! Her Pink Patch Quilt with its multitude of pink hues means there’s no need for rose-tinted glasses to appreciate this beauty.
She carefully cut pieces from her border print to create this wonderful Woodland Applique quilt. The wilderness has never looked so cuddly!
