Jelly Roll Placemats, Table Runner or Rug Class Supply List
We will practice the assembly technique and determine exact fabric requirements during the first class using fabric and batting supplied by the instructor. Fabric and batting is not necessary for the first class but the tools are.
For the first class please bring the following:
- sewing machine in good working order (please bring your owner's manual and don't forget your foot pedal and power cord)
- rotary cutter
- 24.5" X 6.5" Creative Grids Quilting Ruler
- good quality cotton thread such as Wonderfil Konfetti 50 wt.
- denim/jean needles in size 14 or 16
- a walking foot for your machine which allows you to do a zig zag stitch or, if your machine has a built-in walking foot, please bring your zig zag foot
- quilting pins
- thread snips
- Clover Fabric Tube Maker OR Gypsy Fabric Tube Maker
- awl or Purple Thang
For your homework and to prepare for the second class:
- Katahdin 2.25" batting strip roll OR enough 2.25" cotton or poly/cotton strips required for your project
- the necessary number of jelly roll(s) or 2.5" X by WOF strips for your project
Please note...
- a 40 strip jelly roll (or forty 2.5" X WOF strips cut from yardage) will make a set of 4 placemats or a small oval rug (the store sample was made from the equivalent of sixty WOF strips
- half a jelly roll (or twenty 2.5" X WOF strips cut from yardage) will make a table runner
