Retreat Bag
Everyone needs bags for sewing or knitting projects, cosmetics, small toys and craft items for amusing young children, all those things. The Retreat Bag fills the bill perfectly, with lots of space for stuff. But it comes with a big difference -- a wire frame inserted along the top edge opens the bag wide and lets it stay open for easy loading and retrieval of items. A perfect gift that's sure to be appreciated!

Materials:
1 Fat Quarter for Exterior
0.5m for Lining
1m Pellon Shapeflex SF101
0.25m Fusible Fleece 987F
Sewing machine in good working condition, with manual, all accessories, power cord and foot control;
1/4" foot, walking foot or IDT, zipper foot;
Needle: Topstitch 80/12 or 90/14;
Thread: 50 wt cotton (Konfetti) to match your accent fabric
One set of two Style A Metal Frames from Emmaline Bags (SKU 1208937);
One 16 inch or longer closed-end nylon zipper (buy a 20")
Wonder Tape (SKU 1201596);
Frixion Pen in a colour to show on your fabric;
Rotary cutter and 24" ruler;
Wonder Clips (SKU 1095887)
Basic sewing kit: seam ripper, thread snips, pins, etc.
Note that the supply list pertains to the small retreat bag. If you wish to make the larger bag, please the fabric requirements listed on the pattern.
Please come to class with the following cutting done:
From exterior fabric, cut two body pieces 13.5" x 9" for small bag; cut two 2" x 3" rectangles for zipper ends.
From lining fabric, cut two body pieces 13.5" x 9" for small bag; cut two 8" squares for pockets.
From the woven interfacing cut four 13" x 8.5" rectangles for body pieces; cut two 7.5" squares for pockets.
From the fusible fleece, cut two 12 1/2" x 8" rectangles for exterior body pieces
Before class, prepare your pieces according to step two of the pattern.
