Quilting 1 for the Absolute Beginner

In this 3-part class we will start from the very beginning.  We will begin with how to choose fabrics, cut a straight line with a rotary cutter, use a ruler properly, measure accurately and sew a consistent 1/4" in seam.  All you need to know is how to thread your own machine and wind a bobbin.  (If you need help with this we can give you a private lesson prior to the beginning of the first class).

We will be making a quilt top (otherwise known as a flimsy) based on the Three Six Nine quilt pattern.  You can choose the size you would like to make.  We will talk about fabric selection and preparation during the first class.

As quilting does require an initial investment in supplies, Quilty Pleasures offers a one-time 20% discount for students in this class.  When you purchase your rulers, rotary cutter, marking tools and other items listed below, let the staff know and they will apply the discount.   These are the basic tools used for all quilting projects. When fabric is selected for the class or supplies purchased after the start of the course a 10% discount will be applied.  Please bring your machine in to the store prior to the first class to have staff give it a quick test and to help determine your quarter inch or if a foot needs to be ordered to your machine.
