- 'Hand-Stitched Quilts' Book by Carolyn Forster
- Basic hand stitching toolbox: hand stitching needles such as size 8 sharps, thread snips, fabric scissors, sand paper board, preferred marking pen/pencil, thimble, seam ripper, quilting straight pins, hand quilting needles such as size 10 Betweens or John James Quilting size 10 and quilt basting pins.
- Glide thread in a neutral colour to match your fabric selection such as cream, light grey, dark grey, navy, black or tan.
- 4 pieces of template plastic
- Household scissors for cutting your templates
- Pencil and paper to take notes
- "zip lock" style baggies of various sizes to store your templates and cut fabric for each block.
- 4 meters of a non-directional background fabric (blenders, solids or very small prints are ideal)
- 4 or 5 coordinating Fat Quarters that you like non-directional fabrics are preferred, and as you progress in your project, you will add more fabrics to develop a cohesive scrappy effect.

Pre-Class Preparation
Please wash, dry and iron all fabric using Mary Ellen's Best Press prior to the first class. Bring all fabric and class supplies to the first class labelled in such a way to identify your own tools.
