This class is the second in our learn to quilt classes. Ideally you will have completed our Quilting 1 for the Absolute Beginner Class before enrolling in Quilting 2. The expectation is that you can cut multiple layers of fabric using a rotary cutter, follow a basic pattern and are familiar with sewing a consistent and accurate 1/4" seam prior to the class. Please speak to Carrie or Amy if you are unsure if this is the right class for you. This class will lead you through the process of making a sampler quilt that can be as funky or traditional as you like. You'll make a variety of traditional pieced blocks that assemble into a twin size quilt top. There will be weekly homework assigned to be completed between classes so please factor that into the time commitment for this course.
Come use our space and our tools (and escape your family, renovations or anything else you'd like to leave at home). Come alone or bring a friend. This is a great opportunity to sew-cialize with friends, both new and old! A staff person will be assigned to help you, if needed, but there will not be a specific lesson or class being taught. You must bring your own machine (as always, we can help you carry it in), your project supplies and rotary cutters. As an added bonus, any regularly-priced shopping you do the same day will be discounted by 10%. Please call the store to register or ask any questions you may have. 613-834-3044
Spend some time relaxing with friends while you eat, drink and paint your own Barn Quilt Block! We are having the event off-site at Les Vergers Villeneuve and Blueberry Farm so you can take in the fresh air, create your own painted barn quilt block, and sample some local products! The class fee includes a 16" barn block of your choice (choose your design at the time of registration), use of all the necessary painting supplies, Carrie's helpful tips, a snack plate made up of local products, and a non-alcoholic beverage of your choice. The class will be held in the "party barn" at Les Vergers Villeneuve and Blueberry Farm. 1341 Rollin Road, St.-Pascal Baylon, Ontario The farm is approximately 30 minutes east of Place d'Orleans. While we will be indoors, and the event space is heated, we suggest dressing in layers for comfort (and bring your re-useable travel mug!).
